Upon purchase, you will receive a PDF of my 2011 novel Veins.

It enjoyed a small print run and has been available on Amazon's Kindle store since. Now you can purchase it from me, without cutting in any billionaires.

Here are some reviews of the book by readers. (Thank you, readers)

----------------------

The protagonist, Veins, leads a life that is the opposite of charmed. All the while, he manages. If you can't identify with Veins, you are lying to yourself about your life. As clueless as Michael Scott and as charming as Forrest Gump, Veins recalls his formative years without regret or analysis.

Every chapter starts with a seemingly innocuous introduction that leads into a downward spiral of miserable jest. At times, Schadenfreude at its finest, and at others cathartic. Each chapter is fairly self-contained, and it is a book you can easily put down and pick up an hour later -- though this should not be interpreted as a slight in the least. I found the book both compelling and enjoying.

--------------------------

I read this after seeing C&H rave about it. It looked good but I had no idea it would be as good as it was.
It's about the Dude. He first talks about his freshman year in High school and how much he hated it. It then escalates to something you
really wouldn't think would happen. It start's off in the 70s, and goes through is life from then on until 2010.
It is really difficult to put down and once you have finished it you just want to read it again.

It's humorous, it has good character development and you actually start to feel like if some things just didn't happen, his life would be so much better.
It's one of the best books I've read in ages. Highly recommend and even if you give up on it (which you shouldn't) read the last few chapters for a good ending.

We all knew a person like "Veins". Maybe we were a little like Veins.
It is a story that rings with such familiarity. It describes a most humiliated life filled with tragedy, as narrated by a person of such a different mindset. His thoughts have their own logic, but one that doesn't adhere to our own common sense. It is truly like seeing the world through another person's eyes, and it is a terrifying place.

It is wonderfully and carefully written. It is one of the most thoroughly sad things I've encountered, however it maintains a sense of dark humour that carries it well.

I highly recommend this e-book. I read it on my smartphone over a couple days and thoroughly enjoyed it.

----------------------------------

I was directed to this via a 'link' on toothpaste for dinner and so glad I was, the story is mesmerising, erring on the side of uncomfortable, but completely un-putdownable.

Drew's completely unabashed ease at putting awkward and disturbing images on to paper reminds me slightly of Mr King himself - this book is by no means a horror, but the way of writing things that normally would make us squirm without a sense of shame is a real talent. Veins is an incredible human insight.

If you're in doubts about buying this book, read the 'look inside!' and I promise you will be hooked...
